Felt a Fanny Wins A Grant from Another Way Women Foundation
We are thrilled to announce that Felt a Fanny has been awarded a grant from Another Way Women Foundation (AWWF)! This incredible support will help us further our mission of empowering teenage girls and individuals assigned female at birth by promoting period awareness, wellbeing, and self-care through creative and holistic workshops.
Our Mission Felt a Fanny is dedicated to dismantling stigmas surrounding menstruation and fostering mental, emotional, and physical health. Our workshops, led by a professional felt maker, yoga teachers, therapists, and other practitioners, provide a safe, inclusive space where participants can learn, share, and grow. Through this work, we aim to build confidence, foster community, and contribute to a brighter and fairer future. As a UK-based organisation, we are proud to be a Trademarked entity committed to positive change.
Our work strongly aligns with AWWF’s core values of empowerment, community focus, and respect. By inspiring and enabling teenage girls and individuals assigned female at birth, we champion gender equality and drive meaningful social change through education and support.
Impact and Reach The grant will support our Period Awareness and Wellbeing Workshops, a vital initiative designed to empower teenage girls, non-binary individuals, and transgender youth through education, creative expression, and holistic wellbeing practices. Our workshops will address the lack of menstrual health education, the stigma surrounding periods, and the need for sustainable self-care resources.
What Our Workshops Offer:
- Menstrual Health Education: Essential knowledge on menstrual cycles, hygiene, and effective period management.
- Creative Activities: Hands-on sessions with a professional felt maker where participants learn the art of needle felting and explore creative expression as empowerment.
- Wellbeing Practices: Yoga, mindfulness, and mental health sessions conducted by qualified practitioners to build confidence and resilience.
- Community Building: Safe, supportive spaces for participants to share experiences and foster lasting connections.
By integrating education, creativity, and holistic wellness, our workshops aim to improve knowledge, promote sustainable practices, and enhance emotional wellbeing, particularly in underserved communities.
We are incredibly grateful to Another Way Women Foundation for believing in our mission and supporting our efforts to create lasting change. Stay tuned for updates on our workshops and the impact of this generous grant!
